During my time at Kōkua I enjoyed so much from traveling to volleyball tournaments and competing with my team to the moments of simple connection formed from practice every week. I found a true home within Kōkua from how the coaches take the time to work with each athlete, to the teams the club creates full of different experiences and backgrounds to grow players. There was a time during the season where we as a team did warm ups on the stationary bike which really was an amazing experience to be a part of something greater than myself.

Kōkua has given me a chance to grow into the player I am. They put so much effort into me and built me up. Kuni and Mark were able to push me farther than any other coaches. Thanks to them I was asked to be the captain my last year and being able to help other young men see that it’s possible to achieve great things even from our part of the country. It was amazing working with so many talented individuals and making such amazing friend from coaches to teammates, I hope to stay in touch with them and I hope they keep cheering me on from home as they watch their work and effort playing on Tusculum University’s court.

Kōkua were some of the best times I had playing volleyball! I learned new things every practice and had the best team there with me through out every year. I’m very grateful and proud to see how much each year the team has grown together. We couldn’t have done it without the help of our amazing coaches. I’m very glad to have found Kokua and start my journey of boys volleyball. Can’t wait to see where the future goes for Kōkua and see my old teammates and new athletes come along.
